Ride in Spain

I'm just back from a week long biking holiday in southern Spain and got a taste of what you guys often talk about on here....Heat!
It was between 35/42C most of the time which is I believe around 95/108f which is damn hot in any measurement!
Myself and 3 old friends (well they are in their 50's like me!) had a ball, they rented BMW G650GS and GS1200 bikes but as I don't like them and a Harley Ultra or heritage was around $1,000 per week to hire I got a Yamaha Midnight Star 950cc which proved to be the better bike for the trip, according to my mates at any rate!
I'll know again what people are talking about here when they mention the heat being too much to ride in as over here in Ireland this Summer has been a complete washout and the temperatures have not gone into the 20's (70'sf) except on a few occasions.

Here are a few photos;

Do you have more pics or video? I hope you had a good time, despite the heat.

That's great Caddy! I bet you had a great time despite the heat. I'd love to go to Italy and see all the sights.

Like I said we had a "Ball"

We just had to ride early in the morning and later in the evening and "Siesta" in between!

Can anyone recognize the silver bike in the previous post?

More photos;

I agree with you crazygene, my butt was feeling fine at the end of the week and we put up around 2,200km (1,400miles) over the 5 days we actually went riding (hangover days were rest up in the pool days!) including a ride from Malaga to Tarifa to take the ferry to Tangier in Morocco and that was during the day with the temperature in the 110f range! The other lads were complaining of very hard seats and being pushed up against the tank all the time with their "Crown Jewels" being crushed on the tank! Ouch!!!

I too have Italy on my list as I've only been in Rome airport on my way back from Thailand some years ago.
I was in Paris three weeks ago with the family and the kids loved it but it was VERY expensive with a pint of Carlsberg beer costing €11 ($14) so needless to say I didn't get drunk once!!

Could be a plan! I was on a ride between Toronto & Digby Nova Scotia last year and loved it so myself and my mates were thinking of Route 66 next year but maybe the National Rally could be a runner! When is it on and where does it take place?

Here are my two babies;

The Boss man will announce tomorrow the time and place. He has already said it will be in CO.

Route 66 - not much of it left to see. A lot of hype in my opinion.

I'd say your right about the hype around 66 but then it's one of those things that non bikers can relate to and it's the road I'm always asked about!
Anyway thanks for the info & goodnight as it's almost midnight here in the Emerald Isle :)

I'll take a wild guess and say a Royal Enfield Trial 2. Very cool. Do I win a prize?

Trip looks like a blast. Would it be crass of me to ask how much they get for the rental bikes there?

Give that man a big CIGAR!

Yeah a 500cc to boot, prerequisite transport for travelling in India, especially for riding in the Himalayas!
I took a video of it and might post it later when I get home from work. It's 7:19am here now as I post this.
