All depends on how much weight it has to carry. Give me 2 bikes, one weighing 900#, another weighing 400# with the same motor. The 400# bike will run circles around the heavier bike. Sport touring doesn't mean "lightweight". Or, a Ducati can blow a Ninja away even though both have about the same size motor (1100cc or thereabout, I think) partly because the Ducati is much lighter. And because it's Italian.

But you won't have a bike with a 2.3L engine weighing just 400lbs. Losing the weight is a big deal though. My RT is 250lbs lighter than the Nomad I had...
