My 01 is gone.

Well 4/7/2012 at about 9:30 at night about 2 miles from the house, I was on a small two lane road going about 40mph and all of a sudden a pickup truck turned right in front of me, before I knew it I was down on the pavment not feeling to good, the guy told me he did not see me, my bike slid under his bed and me into hid back tire, I was wearing a helmet (thank goodness). I stayed about six hours in ER and then realised, nothing serious, just road rash and cuts a scraps. Though out the years I have read post about laying the bike down, will I did but did not mean to, I applyed to much front brake, and bam I was down. Any way Just wanted to let ya'll know. Hopefully soon I will get another bike, I do not know what I want yet but the Nomad is a contender.

Sorry to hear of your mishap but glad you are relatively okay. Things can change in a split second, that's for sure.

He didn't see you? At night? Must have had his head up his, er ...somewhere else.

I agree, not paying attetion. It will not stop me from getting another bike, but it will keep me riding more defensive.

Glad to hear you are ok. As CJ stated, "Night, headlights on, pickup driver's head stuck up rectum."

At least you are ok. Is the bike repairable? or do you want to replace it.

The insurance co, belives it is totaled. Have not got the official word yet, but the front forks and every thing attached would have to be replaced, along with right side crashbars and saddle bag and tank. The bike had been slitly wrecked before I had it (found out later) so I think yes I am ready for something else. When my body heals then I will be ready for some test rides.

Always sorry to hear about someone crashing . Glad to hear you're in fair condition at least. Having "been down" twice I know it's no fun.
Good luck and have fun looking for a bike. there are a lot of good deals out there these days.

Sorry to hear of this, but as others have said, good that you are relatively unhurt. I hope things get settled quick and you soon find another bike.

I know a lot of you have been through this, what is the timeline for settlement, should I contact a laywer or do most insurace company handle this, The driver has already admitted fault as well as his insurance company has already told my insurance they are accepting libility.

Sorry to hear you lost your bike. Glad you survived in relatively good shape (you're alive). Didn't see you at night???????????????? What a lame excuse. His answer should have been I didn't see you because I wasn't paying F*cking attention.

They are probably going to offer you less than it's worth. And it doesn't usually take but a week.
