When will they offer ABS for the Vaquero here in the USA?

I am really interested in the Kawasaki Vaquero. I think it is a sweet looking bike and would be nice addition to my garage.

The only thing that's stopping me from getting one now is the fact that they don't offer it with ABS

In other markets like in Europe and Australia, the ABS feature comes standard. Why did Kawasaki decide to release the same motorcycle here in the United States without the ABS feature? Or at least make it an option?

Let's not start an ABS vs non-ABS war here, but I ride a motorcycle daily everyday for work and I know and appreciate safety feature of ABS. In fact, it has saved my ass in numerous occasions.

I wonder if Kawasaki would make ABS available for the Vaquero for the 2013 model year here in the USA. I sure hope so, because they'd have a guaranteed buyer for one

I dont see why Kawasaki does not offer a Vaquero ABS.

The only reason I can think of is that Kawasaki wants people to upgrade and buy the Voyager if they want ABS.

I think that Kawasaki's marketing surveys showed that the type of guy who would generally be interested in the Vaquero probably rides without a helmet or other gear and wouldn't put out the extra grand ABS cost.

I noticed that the Concours is now only offered with ABS.

I do wonder if the demand for the Voyager ABS is greater than for the Non-ABS in new (non leftover) sales.

I remember when the new concours 14 came out around 2008, they were offered in both ABS and non-ABS models. I wish they'd at least do the same for the Vaquero

All the Vulcan 1700 models (Voyager, Vaquero, Nomad, Classic) in Australia get ABS standard. They don't even sell non-ABS versions of those bikes over there.

In Canada the Vaquero is available with and without ABS, just as the Voyager is. You could buy one and import it but you'd have no warranty.
Or, you could buy a Voyager ABS and remove the trunk, swap out the windshield and seat.........................

Probably the best idea yet. That's one of the things I'm looking into.

I'd rather not spend more money than I have to, if possible at all

It would be interesting to know the real reason they chose not to sell the ABS version in the US and sell it in Canada. One would think it would be a similar market an demand throughout North America.

You can likely find a new 2011 Voyager ABS for less money than a 2012 Vaquero. Remove the trunk and sell it to a Nomad rider for $1000, buy a seat and wind deflector and have money left over! And you'll have cooler saddlebags too........... <flame suit on>
