Question Grasshopper backrest for 2010 Nomad - Fitment Question

I was wondering if anyone has installed a Grasshopper backrest on their 2010 Nomad? Does the passenger seat need to be cut to accommodate the mounting bracket? I checked the Grasshopper website but it isn't very clear on this.

Thanks,

Kevin

I, have a Grasshopper backrest on my 2010 Nomad and you do not have to cut anything.

I have a grasshopper on my 2010 super easy install. It's the single best add on I've done to my bike.

I have the Grasshopper back rest on my 2009 Nomad. When I had my seat redone, I had them modify the back rest. I felt the back rest pushed me too far forward. We ended up flipping it around so the padding in the back became the driver's side and the wood of the back rest was behind the support bracket. We also used some 1 inch foam towards the passenger side to get back some of the room lost by flipping the backrest around. It has worked very well. No significant loss of passenger room and I am not being pushed so far forward.

Paddyo, thanks for that tidbit. I will have to keep that in mind when I get the backrest. Ride safe!!
