WTF Updated Impression

I really don't like it. We have lost a lot of the personal touch.

> Last 10 threads viewed is gone - I really liked that.
> New Topics is gone - it was an easy way to catch things that are added
> On the new board it is difficult to figure out what is the most current threads or those that have changed day to day.

This board does not encourage the "friendly banter" that we had in the past board as it is harder to navigate.

Just my humble opinion.

Mike

Not true at all. It has all that, and more.

I'm really surprised how many people find this forum software foreign to them. This is the industry standard...the best there is. When it comes to big, proffesional forums, 9 out of 10 will be on Vbulletin. I know every other forum I belong to on the 'net, no matter what the subject, uses it. I really would have thought more of you would be familiar with it.

And there's no reason at all for the 'personal touch' to be gone. All we did was change forum softwares...that's all. Nothing else has changed. Same people, same posts, same intent. The domain name did change, but we had no choice in that. We needed a name to exist. No way around that.

I think change, no matter how right or beneficial it is, can overwhelm certain people. But in time I'm certain you'll realize how goog it is. It's just going to take some time.

I think some of these folks have a hard time with digital watches and cell phones as well.

That's why I keep a teenager nearby at all times, they can tell me how all this electronic stuff works.

WELL, i HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ADAPT. nOT GOING SO WELL SO FAR. fORUM SEEMS TO (opps, had caps lock on) be written by a techie with an eye for "the new industry standard" of forums rather than a forum for a bunch of folks that ride motorcycles. Dumb the feature/function side of things down a bit and let us spend time thinking about what we want to say about our motorcycles instead of: WTF!!! why can't I just hit enter??? And what the heck happened too....????
Just saying!

Might I suggest troscoe that you focus on training yourself on the ways of the PC before we change the world for you. Give it time... you'll adapt.

OK, I won't voice my opinion any more. Well I might from time to time but....
Thinking that I will get smarter about computers is probably a waste of time. Heck, I still don't get why we had to give up carburators and distributors.

Ross, this new site is a bit confusing at first, but then again as far as I'm concerned so are all those bottons on a Gold Wing.

Every time I come here I like it better. Everything I try to do it does better than the last one. Big improvement, thanks!
