Oil Gear

danimal2 click on JOG after looking at the first set of pictures on this site and that is my Jog after 5000 miles.Ran perfect until then.i think the gear failed and then one of the teeth or something wore it out! That what I say if the instalation was wrong it should have happened way before then.Jim who has the bike now with the fog welded has about 3000 miles and so far so good! Mike let me know what you think!

Oil Gear

I got 7,000 out of my first gear. After lots of trouble shooting with Judge, it appears that the tabs on the back of the clutch gasket were not down far enough.

I decided to just get an 03' for back up since Nomads are so cheap. ;)

Oil Gear

My 99 has a factory steel oil gear installed by the dealer. It may very well have been the last FAS done on the 99's because it was done in November of 2009. I'm just glad they did it on their dime and not mine.

coacha That was the last year I believe. others have got oer 100k on thier jogs/ I just believe taht if they run 5 to 7 thousand miles it is noy a installation mistake at first there was some failure until he started having then heat treated. Then The man who was doing these passed away and bob had to find a new manufacturer i think a couple of times. The tabs on mine were not up or protruding at all.
