You can still easily turn the throttle even with the Flip-a-lever engaged.
You're still sugar coating it CJ. Tell us how you really feel.

In that case it is the flip a lever is a lot cheaper. Still thinking for safety the other is better, For me anyway.

No, another rmember commented on the safety of a throttle lock without an instant quick-release. I was merely stating that with the Flip-a-lever, you can adjust the throttle even when it's engaged. It isn't locked solid.

Not sugar coating anything. I had one before I installed a real cruise control and I liked it.

I have one of the original Schneider Flip-a-lever's, and I also have the Audiovox electronic cruise control. I use both, each has some advantages. The Flip-a-lever does the same thing as the Vista cruise control, but the thing I like better about it is, it's almost invisible.

Any throttle lock presents some risk if you get into a panic situation. However, for the price it provides the needed relief on long trips and I only use it on long straight roads - where the risk is minimal.

One thing to consider.
A throttle lock will not hold a consistent speed like a REAL cruise control will.
The throttle lock will let the bike slow on uphills and speed up on down hills.

If you are referring to my last post, I just want people to know the pros and cons of a purchase.
For your information, I like my Vista Cruz and that works the same as the flip a lever.
If your not referring to my last post then disregardful this post.

I used a piece of rubber hose as a throttle lock, and it work as well as any store bought unit. I used it mainly to hold the bike on a high idle while it was warming up, and it did a great job.

Well, I was referring to your last post, so I kaint disregardfu it. So please accept my deepest and most humble apology. In my vain attempt to imitate BD's masterful artistry of wit and humor, when he used that"Buzz Kill" line on CJ, somewhere I musta erred. Accept it in the spirit of a friendly tongue in cheek commit

Goshlee I even went to the trouble of putting a " " there and everything.

For my self imposed penance I shan't consume corn liqueur at break time in the parking lot with the "Harley Boys" at work for one week, between the hours of 2 am and 10 am. And do a buncha Hail Marys and stuff.

Thats a very harsh punishment you dolled out to yourself.
You don't deserve that for such a minor infraction. ;) ;)

Mike, you should realize no one can imitate BD.
Frankly I am wondering why any body would want to.

Sorry about the misunderstanding and not getting the smiley. But I will be the first to admit, I don't get your type of humor sometimes. ;)
Carry on. :)
