Where do I start??? There are some 20,000 good real estate deals in the greater Phoenix area. More than 6,000 foreclosures in Phoenix metro alone. Some of the properties are offered below $30k. All of the "cheep" ones need repair.

Repair/remodel of properties is what I've done for over 35 years. Combine that with an abnormally low income over the last 4 months (and the weather) and its time to make a move.

Side note: This is not my first time living in the desert or the Phoenix area. We will be in Phoenix to choose our "live in" home in June 16-23. Oh yea, that's when its HOT. Bet ya we like it!!! I'd rather count on A/C for 4-5 months each year than dependent on heating for 6-8 months.

Mark,

I never knew rain could wear out an umbrella till I was at Ft. Lewis!

I will say one thing, when it's not raining, Washington has got to be one of the most beautiful states.

Hmmm, interesting anomaly.
I've only been (what I call) retired for 3 days and I I've already been in 2 friends houses helping with their plumbing.

Today its back in the mid 70's and it feels a lot better.

I am used to being miserable at 85 in the heat in the Seattle area.

Its been so long since I lived in the desert that I really thought that it was "almost" an 80 degree day in Phoenix when my brother told me that it was 92. My reaction was to say "no its not".

Yea, it was.
