Calgary Ride - Sunday Nov 14

Hey All,
Just heard on the radio that they are forecasting +11 and a Chinook for Sunday. Who's up for meeting for a late breakfast and a ride? Might be the last kick at the cat before putting the bike away for the season.

Here's what I'm thinking:
11:00 Meet at Dixon's Pub 15425 Banister Road SW (just off Macleod Trail and Shawnessey Blvd). They've got a pretty good breakfast for around $5
Head out around noon south on Hwy 2 to Nanton, West on #535 to # 22 and North to Longview. Stop for coffee at Ian Tyson's Navjo Mug cafe.
Then head back into the city on #22 through Black Diamond & Turner Valley

Anyone else interested?

More power to you, but if that 11 degrees is F and not C . . . well that's just showing off.

Ha ha! That would definitely be Celsius degrees. Hey, we Calgarians are a pretty hardy bunch but not to that degree.

Just so there is no confusion 11 degrees C would equal approx 50 degrees F! LOL!

Allright! Look forward to meeting you Wayne.

You're right; hopefully there will be a few more rides yet in 2010. Rode until the end of November last year.

Had a previous appointment - however - I don't think it got that warm? I was out and about around 2:30 and you could see my breath ( and no it's not that bad!) - I blew down the Deerfoot and I wasn't cold ( no sense no feelings) but I passed a couple on a Harley ( dressed as if summer!) and they looked pretty well frozen. I'm figuring it was around 6 ish Celcius?

Yeah, the SOB's lied to us! I guess that's why they call it a "forecast". LOL!

Well it was a little cool starting out but by the time we got to Nanton we were in sunshine and we had clear blue skies all the way until near Millarville. At the Navajo Mug in Longview Roox and I sat on the outdoor deck and enjoyed the sunshine and warmth.

All in all a good day of riding. Mind you I'm in the SW; Roox had to go all the way to the NW and the skies that way looked pretty dark!

Roox, Thanks for coffee & pie. Next time it's my turn to buy! Let's keep in touch and maybe we can create some interest for a get together for the Calgary KawaNOW members during the motorcycle show. Looks like the dates are Jan 7 - 9, 2011.

Glad the two of you had a nice ride. You might as well enjoy it while you can. Take care and ride safe.

It was a great (and last for a while) ride! It started snowing Sunday night and I had to dig out the snow shovel :(" title="" border="0"/>. In this country a couple of hours makes a big difference. Glad we pushed the season to the limit though. The Bike show sounds like a plan..

Jeez, wish I hadn't read this post a week late. I would have joined you two.
Maybe meet up at the Motorcycle Show?

Once we get a little closer to the show I'll post something and see who's interested in a get together. Maybe a bunch of us can meet up for beer & wings or burgers before, during or after the show.

Good idea on meeting up at the bike show. For all of you club members in the Edmonton area, why don't we do the same thing. I believe the bike show is January 14th here in Edmonton. Let's keep in contact and try and work something out. My wife, Bdog and myself have tentative plans to meet on Ladies night on the Friday, but that's not carved in stone. Still waiting on confirmation from Bdog.
