Really hate hearing that Scott. It is probably only going to get worse. Judges hand down a sentence that only causes the bad guys to laugh.

My thoughts on punishment. If you commit a crime and are found guilty. Death sentence to be carried out within one month. No appeals.

Remember Judge Roy Bean? He kept the crime rate alot lower.

People fear death but not prison.

That was Mexican justice being served by a Mexican drug cartel. Chandler is a fairly large city of about 300,000, it's pretty quiet and safe where I live.

The area where my friend lived that was attacked is not a very good area of Mesa. She moved here from Denver (I think) recently and didn't know any better. Mesa is a large city and has some really, really bad areas.

Remember the two clowns that were driving around randomly shooting people in the Phoenix area about 4-5 years ago? I lived in Mesa at the time (in a good area) and 2 of the shootings occurred within a mile of my house. They captured the shooters in an apartment complex less than 2 miles from where I lived. Woke up one morning to the sound of about a half dozen helicopters hovering overhead and live coverage of the SWAT team hauling these two out in cuffs.

An update on my co-worker's condition...

She's doing much better and was able to take a shower today. They are not going to let her go home for a few days until the risk of infection has passed, since she had 3 gunshot wounds in her abdomen and groin areas. Her facial fracture is not as serious as they first thought and should heal on its own.

The city attorney wants to charge these two punks as adults due to the savage nature of the crime and their past criminal records.

They should move the trial to Tucson and make these thugs walk the entire way... in the late summer weather (+110 degrees)... without water or shoes.

If they make it... then move the trial back to Phoenix with them having to return in the same fashion. If they make it... hang 'em!

I think that if you hang these 2 by the neck from a tree in front of the courthouse for a week others that see them just might change there way of thinking if not then you just keep hanging them until they do. And since the economy is so bad you can use the same rope many many times.

Precisely the kind of cost-saving creative thinking this country needs. Rope is cheap and the stuff we have these days is stronger than what they used to hang people with so you could really get your money's worth.

If these little #?*! have any soul left they better be praying for forgiveness.

Last week they executed a convicted killer here in AZ. They were going to sue the state of AZ to divulge the source of the execution drugs. Apparently there's some shortage of these drugs and someone on the condemned man's behalf wanted the state to prove they obtained the drugs by approved means. Hell, they should shoot these guys full of whatever is handy. Drain cleaner, Seafoam, gasoline, whatever they can come up with on short notice. You can bet this guy died more humanely than the people he killed.
