I've had two knee replacements in the last few years plus I broke my ankle last year when the bike went down and rolled over it. The operation on my ankle went ok till just before I got everything taken out of my ankle and at that point it went bad. The bone was degenerating so I had to go back this year and get the ankle fused. With no flexibility in the ankle I just thought that was enough to get that third wheel. I haven't regretted it. The trike runs great and I still get to feel the breeze.
Sorry to hear about the complications with your ankle. Despite all the issues, you never gave up on your Nomad and that's great.

Many of us will go your route one day, I think. It's interesting to note that there are more trikes on the road than there were last year. I saw a Suzuki C90, a BMW K1200 [?] and quite a few H-D trikes in our last trip.

You might be the owner of the "only" Canadian Nomad.

Enjoy!

E.

That is a beautiful trike. I won't be riding another 47 years before need to go to three wheels. Can you describe the difference in power, braking, mileage, heat generation, sound, etc. compared to when it was a two wheel vehicle.

Looks Great...I'm sure a trike is in my future also. How's the cornering? Did you rake the Triple Tree any? I've been told that about a 6 degree rake greatly improves the handling on trikes.

Nice! That's the first I've seen other than the photos on their web site. The trunk really finishes it out. Trikes sure have come a long way from the chopped Harley cop trike by big brother had back in the 70's.

There was a small loss in power after the conversion but with the help of Voyager (Kevin) we installed Chuckster's air breather kit and we put in a TFI module. The pipes were already debaffled so I didn't want to do anymore to that as I like the sound the way it is. Major improvement on the power. She's back to being a beast. Braking is of course much truer andf the bike stops in a straight line as opposed to sliding one way or the other. Mileage doesn't appear to have suffered much at all and I think I may get 10-15 km's less a tank at most. There is a definate rise in heat. Not enough to be uncomfortable but definately enough to notice. I will enjoy that on those first early spring rides and the late fall rides as it gets quite cool here.
For Wompus..........My brother in law drives around what he affectionately calls the big pickle but he hasn't done anything aftermarket to his nomad so I can still take him now.......
