I was supposed to do a safety survey on that vessel (Skandi Neptune) a few months ago. I didn't go because we were out bid for the job at the last minute.

Live feed of an ROV cutting piping in preparation for mounting the hat on top of the BOP to pipe the oil and gas up to a ship. If this doesn't work, the next step will be shutting down one of the 2 rigs drilling the relief wells and robbing one of their blow out preventers to stack on top of the leaking BOP. Otherwise, we will have to wait until at least August for one of the relief wells to be completed with the cement plug. The Gulf Coast is in dire need of this to be completed as quickly as possible. The currents have shifted and the oil slick is now moving toward the MS, AL, and FL coastlines. Much of the damage is done to our estuaries and marshes already. Unfortunately, it looks like someone else will get their turn now. What a mess!
