I'm a first time home owner.

Jared,
Congrats on the new place. Home ownership has many rewards, mostly financial. Just watch out for the soon-to-be divulged "honeydew list". It can be a cumbersome obstacle to doing what you want....like riding.

I always say there are two kinds of guys in this world. Those who ask their wives if they can go fishing, and those who tell their wives they are going fishing. I have mine trained well. She usually asks me if I am going riding or fishing before hitting me with anything on the list..... . God I love her...... ;)!

Nice! Congratulations. What area of town is it in?
Scott-

The home is on 400 North and east of State St. in Orem (can't remember the exact address)

We will be in the area for at least another 5 years while my wife gets her JD and I get my MBA. We have been renting too long and the right deal came along. AND we're first time home owners so all of your guys taxes get to may a small portion of my home.

I'm a first time home owner.

My parents lived just off 4th N. and 150 E for a few years. There are some nice old neighborhoods there.

I love fixing houses up, so if you get in the mood, look me up :)

I'd start by building some 8x8 or 10x10 wood columns for the front porch, and I noticed that you have some really high base board in the front room, which is great. But the crown molding is small. I know an easy way to beef up the crown molding that a non-carpenter could do in a day. You don't have to know how to do angles at all, just straight cuts. It make the crown look much larger.

It might take a while for the fix up bug to hit you, but when it does, hit me back. :)

I noticed that you won't give us the address. Afraid that we'll show up and pitch tents in the back yard and fire up the BBQ?

I haven't been to Orem in years, but I know the general area. Nice older homes. You don't see houses like that here. Virtually everything here is less than 20 years old and stucco is everywhere.
