My tornado sits out like a sore thumb in the rain but have had no issues what so ever. I don't even bother covering it up when I wash, though I try not to direct the hose right at the filter.

Rain drowned my 800 classic when I did the cadman to that. When I changed to a K&N, it had no problems. Paper is not a good material for an open element exposed to the weather.

I'm also thinking of doing the cadman mod this winter. Great advice from everyone!

Now, if I can talk myself into taking things apart and taking parts out and off of the bike.

cadman mod - rain ?

as i too am now considering the caddman mod, i thought of the following for when the bike is parked and in a down pour - a shower cap over the filter element? it has a stretchy band.
