WHO IS WINDY/ WINDIER/WINDIEST?

i live in south west kansas. 24 miles from greensburg kansas where the tornado leveled the town 2 years ago. 30 miles east of dodge city which is supposedly windier than chicago.. the trick is just put a couple of rocks in your pocket so you don't get blown away......

Just got back from OKC, seems like it is always blowing there, they wrote a song about it if I recall. Where I live it is most always nearly calm to light winds except when it Chinooks, and then we can get 100+ mph straight-line winds right out of the west, about 260 deg. Happens a few times a year with the 100+ more rare.

Generally there isn't much wind in southern Louisiana unless there is a thunderstorm in the area or when a cold front pushes through in the winter. In those cases the wind can be gusting up to 35 mph. I don't even want to talk about hurricanes because the season will be upon us in a little over 1 month. Sure hope we get a break this year. I love to ride but when the winds are gusting I'd just as soon put the Nomad in the garage. I've been through the Texas panhandle several times and it seems like when you get west of Wichita Falls on 287 the wind never lets up.
