I have always worn the gear, even when it is well over 100+ down here. Just don't feel comfortable with it. A good reminder and the video was very good.

I am of the same mind. All the gear all the time. It doesn't get as hot here as it is in Phoenix or the Lone Star State etc. But it's whatever you get use to. So 90 F here is hot. I have my mesh jacket and think it's the best thing ever. Always boots, gloves, jeans and chaps. Helmet is a must.
I shudder when I see "kids" on their "crotch rockets" wearing shorts, T-top, and "flip-flops" I rode up beside such a rider last summer and he gave me a nod. I gave him a once over and then asked him..." You have never layed her down have you"??? He looked like a deer in headlights, and said ,..."No" ?
I said " I hope you don't, dressed like that". The light turned green and I rode away.

I was certainly glad I have gotten into the habit of wearing everything as I was sliding next to Big Blue down that ditch last June. I've been told that the chunks out of my new leather jacket are "battle scars" to be proud of. All they really are is a reminder that I'm not the rider I think I am, and speed signs in corners mean something.

can't wear full leathers in TX in the summer at 100+, you would die first of heat stroke. i have tried using a flo-thur mesh jacket now in summer with gloves and helmet. Forget the chaps down here except winter.

Same here, Doc. I see people wearing chaps in the summer around here and can only imagine how miserable that must be. I did buy a decent mesh jacket last year, but those armor pads leave me soaking wet.

I'll admit it, there is a limit to the amount of personal misery I will subject myself to in the name of safety. I'll take my chances. I won't ride in shorts, but I'm not going to be bundled up in leathers when it's 110 out, either.

Aerostich Roadcrafter. All the time. From 40 to 100 degrees. (That's Georgia 100 degrees with 95% humidity. Not fun but safe.)
