Got the Nomad home today

With a nice day today, I was able to bring my 2003 Nomad home today. I put on about 140 miles on her, with some miles two up. Its a very nice machine indeed. The bike is Pearl Black, all stock, and I agree with the other black machines, that the black ones are the fastest. Just kidding. First tank was about 38 MPG. Shifts great and the stock pipes are just right for me. Lugs down to 40 MPH in top gear pretty well, but I try not to shift into fifth unless I am above 50. As bought, the suspension is fine when two up, and the clutch feels very smooth and solid. Soon I'll start changing out all the fluids and adding the cruise, zerk fittings, trunk, etc. First impressions are what a Great bike. Can't wait to take some long trips. Wish I could make the rally.

nomaddriver03, your only 85 miles away from the rally in the Finger Lakes we are having in June. That's about an hour and a half ride one way. You should try to make it.

Actually I was referring to the rally in Custer. But now that you mentioned the rally in the finger lakes, I will seriously think about making that one. Eighty five miles !, just long enough to get the Nomad warmed up. Thanks for the tip, I'm going to look into it.
