Chatterbox intercom

I was trying to avoid it. You know, I ride to ride, don't really need to talk to the passenger. However, as we all know, eventually you'll want to say something or point out something interesting. So, instead of taking my eyes off the road and yelling over my shoulder, I was thinking of buying the Chatterbox HJC50 intercom. It's not a two way to other bikes, it just lets you tak to your passenger, or listen to music and gps.
Anyone have any experience with these?

I've heard they work pretty good. No personal experience with them. I'm very interested in the unit kawasaki is bringing out specifically for the Nomad. That will do just about everything you need.

Chatterbox intercom

I have the HJC-FRS Multi Sport and love it. Great intercom, also very nice as an interface for my MP3 player. Can listen to tunes and have the squelch set to be able to talk. As soon as either one of us talks into the VOX the tunes are squelched and we can communicate. When we stop talking the tunes come back. Unit also has two UHF channels that I have never been able to use because I have not found anyone with a like unit to talk to. Idaho

Chatterbox intercom

I have not had an experience with chatterbox but I use a autocom pro-sport 7. It is expensive but has consistently delivered above advertisements and expectations. I have the Garmin Streetpilot 2820 mounted using the Ram mount and the combination gives me intercom, bike to bike, GPS, XM radio, weather conditions and forcasts, and telephone communications. With the exception of the radio head on the handlebar, you would not even know it had a radio. Again, an expensive set up to purchase, but exceptional performance.

Chatterbox intercom

I have the Chatterbox HJC-50. My wife and I like it. We have full face helmets. The microphones work fine and everything was easy to install/attach. There is some, but not too much wind noise. It depends a bit on wind angle. It is very easy to hook up and take off when we get on and off the bike. I leave the mounting on my helmet, but take the unit off unless we are both riding. I think it handles her voice range (pitch) better than mine, but we can hear in spite of our ear plugs. Good volume. Makes the ride more fun. (I used to point and then later she would ask what I was pointing at.) I think it was money well spent. It is a good product.

May have to try that. I like using the gps, but with sun glare sometimes you can't see the screen that good, so you have to listen.

Chatterbox intercom

I went to the Cycle World Motorcycle show in Houston last week and purchased a Chatterbox multisport. I hooked it up and my wife and I can't use it. It makes a loud clicking noise when you talk and then again when you stop talking. The clicking noise is so loud it hurts our ears. I am really disappointed in the $200 plus device.

Buy the J&M model, well worth the money, rider and passenger hookups, full intercom just like on the touring bikes, fully volume adjustable!!! When I'm listening to my mp3 and someone talks on the cb it automatically cuts in, it's a great system. It will cost you 359.00 for the unit and around 200.00 a piece for the helmets with the speakers and mic built in. I use the 3/4 shorty helmets with the speakers in the fabric ear pieces
