Beach Bars or Ape Hangers
In my efforts to turn my 1600 Vulcan into a neo-Indian I am struggling with the choice of 16" ape hangers or some sweet beach bars. Both have their plus and minuses. The Beach Bars look more authentic to the mod but the ape hangers really get your attention and look dam cool. Any advise from those who have had the same dilemma.

I haven't had the same dilemma, but if it were a straight vote, I'd vote beach bars.

Is comfort and issue?
If you plan on doing all day rides it might make a difference. The most comfortable bars I ever used were the Bikers Choice High-buckhorns with 12" rise, Center Width: 11", Width: 32.25". Pullback: 6.75". I rode a buddies Roadstar with wide beach bars and it wasn't as comfortable for me.

Beach Bars or Ape Hangers
I haven't had beach bars so can't compare, but I do love my ape hangers. Mine are 18" x 1 1/4". They put my hand position a little lower than shoulder height. I have ridden all day with no shoulder or neck problems (something that plagued me with lower bars). The main hassle is having to do longer brake & clutch lines, throttle cables and wiring. I had apes on my last bike and nothing else felt "right".

I'd go beach - I think they fit the style of the bike better. And I've never found apes to be great for riding.

Thanks Copperhead - That pic was on a trip of the Oregon Coast - hope to have my faring on by the end of winter. I always like it solo'd out the best.
