Need your prayers-UPDATE!!

Hi guys + gals,

I have a rental home in Kelso Washington. My tenant just called and said she and her 5 kids are being evacuated right now because a river dike is 50/50 to give way and flood the area. Fortunately she and the kids have family nearby and will be out of harms way...that is the main thing.

The secondary thing is this home is not in a designated flood zone so I did not buy flood insurance....life would be boring without challenges!

Fingers are crossed buddy....my trip to Portland tommorrow for this weekends LL Conference is hosed too with I-5 closed. This is a very bad deal for everyone....but especially homeowners in the disaster areas....prayers for all that this is short lived.

Hi Everyone-

It worked....KawaNow comes through again!

They lifted the evacuation about an hour ago. The dikes held (barely). No damage or injuries for my tenants.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts.

Greg

I think sandbags would be a better solution. Not trying to make light of your predicament. I hope the house escapes peril.

Wow Greg,
Looks like God was watching out for the Longview/Kelso area (and your rental). I'm still praying for them and you.

I had relatives living in Rexburg, Idaho back when the Teton Dam broke in 1976 or 1977. My uncle owned a jewelry store on Main St. There was 9 feet of water in his store. He was insured and everything but it was a real mess. At least his home was up on high ground.

I'm glad your house was spared.

I have "a cabin" in the Mt. Baker area of WA { Maple Falls }schoeney, and I hear the Nootsack is breached and is or has taken out part of the MT. Baker Hwy. I got a report that another "campground" with trailers is totally being washed away. My place is right beside a huge Mt. on the Mt Baker Hwy. and I'm hoping it doesn't slide. It would wipe my place off the map if it did slide. I'm a little nervous right now. I haven't had any phone calls yet so no news is good news.
Glad you made out OK and your tenants are safe. The power of suggestion or prayer is amazing.

So, Schoeney, can we assume that there is flood insurance in your future? Happy to know that the house was not flooded.

Ricky, good luck with the cabin.

Look on the bright side, lot's of water for fish. Wet ground is hard on grasshoppers. Your wells won't go dry.
