Bobber in the making

Will upload pics later today. It's a 82 maxim 650. All ideas are welcome. Tell me what I should do to her. Project name bastard child!

MD... that's sounds like a great project. I would like to have a bobber just run around on. Would be a blast.

Are you looking to make it a classic-bobber look from back-in-the-day when they first came about; or more like some of the newer variations of a old-bobber look?

Personally, I like the original bobber look. Red rims, large white-wall tires, bobbed-off fenders, mid-size ape-hanger bars, spring seat, and a small tank.

Good luck and post pics! ;)

Keep goin! I haven't done a Bobber yet - but I was toying with the idea from a Salvaged 800 Kawi that I had found? I am still trying to get it for a good price - damn guy wants an arm and a leg right now!!!! And no, I will not turn my 800 Drifter into a Bobber!!

Bobbers are one of my favorites as well, especially built in the old school style. Nice and simple with spokes and whitewalls.

Looks like a fun project. Wires would be my choice white or black wall. I would need a bit more rear fender to keep my big but off the tire.

Id go with wires for sure, but the tires would work either way.

a 650 Maxim was my first bike ;) I think this project will turn out awesome.
A few times I spun the rear tire hitting second gear!
