Want to install front lights on a 2010 Nomad

Stan,

Those look like the Burners from WallyW. I eventually had to replace the sockets, which come right out with bulb removed and are a $2 standard hardware store item. Then sealed them up on...

Lost my only son

Dennis,

Just came across this, haven't been on much lately. My deepest sympathies, losing a child has to be one of life's toughest. Time will help but will not remove all the pain.

Want to install front lights on a 2010 Nomad

Those in my sig pic below are $17 at Wally World, complete with wiring kit, 50W each (the headlight is 100W) and install in a few minutes plus the wiring taking maybe an hour.

Fall Road Surprises

Leaves can get you too, Tennessee Traveler doesn't need to worry about that either.

Dead Battery

Two of three that I had fail suddenly were Interstates. Their standard warranty is not that all long and full replacement costs extra, as I recall.

Dead Battery

I've had a few auto batteries (three I recall) that died suddenly without warning over the past 15 years or so. Perfectly good (at starting) one day and dead as a doornail the next. Hasn't happened...

Brake pad question?

I got 19K mi out of my originals and replaced them with a pair of EBCs that only lasted 8K.

Million Dollar Hwy - Last weekend

Daryl, You and I were suppose to be taking those pictures, what happened?

Did do an Aspen Colors ride around the Front Range couple weeks ago, but sure not the San Juans.

B2, Good luck with...

Determining Left Side of Bike From Right Side

Mac,

That rudder is amazing. Come up with that all by yourself?

Rescued on the road

Geez LW, that's not suppose to happen. Glad you are okay. Kudos to Skeeter for sure.

Would be interested in a further diagnosis as to what may have caused it.

Shifting problems

At that mileage, could be the clutch spring, but should show symptoms at other speeds too, with enough acceleration. Try it on a steep hill, if you have one.

I like it, but if they had to do something, I wish they would fix the Search feature.

"What the hell just happened"

Yes they do ::) I managed to stop it from going down all the way by breifly channeling superman(&*^*& 1700 is HEAVY) but I'm still trying to break the habit of using too much front at low speeds....

Life After No longer Owning a Nomad

I'm surprised that nobody has suggested the VN1700 option. There is a tremendous difference (improvement) in the low speed handling with it, based on my one experience with an extended test ride. ...

Nomad 1600 Ping

As someone else said, the TFI reignited my love affair with the Nomad. What a difference it makes, even at 5500 ft! Even getting 40+ mpg on the highway with 85 octane.

I don't know why

I think Deacon experienced the Nomad's torque, going from third to fourth at higher rpm (and single rider) is a kick.

What CJ said. Been there done that. It is quite a surprise and before you know it you're past the recovery point. The 1700s don't seem to do it.

Million Dollar Highway in October ?

As others have said, it can be some great or some very bad riding. Take it a day (if not an hour) and a mile at a time and don't plan too far ahead for anything going one way or the other. The...

Strange starting problem

After returning home from a short (40 mi) ride today, my trusty '05 would not start after setting for about ten minutes. Everything looked and acted normal, just cranked and would not fire. Has...

The ride to Margaritaville

Okay, we're over that hump and a step closer. Thanks all.

BTW, I do agree that mid April would be the best time for the trip, latter part would avoid most the spring-breakers. I've lived in...

I remember that. I also recall some negative comments about the "wood look" so maybe he moved on.

The ride to Margaritaville

Vic,

We're giving this some consideration but is kind of a long shot at this point. May be retired by then, which works in our favor but April is bad time to plan a bike trip in or out of the...
