Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

We just sold her shadow 750. It was too small for her, plus we have very small kids and she didn't want to ride until they got a little older.

The Can Ams have been tickling her fancy lately. She...

Severe clutch grab after spring replacement.

BTW.. The clutch nut was under torqued.
I dont know by how much, but before I torqued it, it had two of the nuts threads exposed, after I torqued it, there were three of the shafts threads exposed....

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

I'm almost glad all of this happened.

#1 I learned a lot about my bike.
#2 I got to buy several new tools!
#3 The bike was "serviced" at the local dealer about a thousand miles ago. There is no...

2005.
I brought it in and sat it up on the fireplace mantle. Now there's a perfect little oily spot. I can only imagine the heck I'm going to catch when she sees it and realizes what caused it. :)

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

The way it had come to rest, I can't imagine it would have ever moved.
But the other side of that coin (pun) I can't imagine ever drawing an easy breath while on a the highway knowing that thing...

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

It's out..
The oil screen option was a dead end, but I tore the side off my engine (for the third time) and after removing a large gear over what looks like a magneto, I saw my penny sitting very...

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

I've already ridden it about ten miles, so there's no telling where it has come to rest.

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

Well that's an interesting glimmer of hope. I didn't think there was any hole large enough to let the penny out.
I think I'll give that oil screen hole a whirl.

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

I used one because it was a tip I read online, plus it made sense that the soft tin/copper penny wouldn't do any damage to the steel gears.

My biggest concern is that it would block off the oil...

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

Yes, I had the one under the basket covered.
I ran a long screwdriver down the hole and never hit bottom, but the screwdriver came back completely covered in oil, so I assume it's a "Frontal" hell...

Dropped a penny in my case. Down the "hell hole"

So while I was doing the clutch replacement, I was using a penny to stop the gears from turning while I torqued the nut back on.

The penny fell and went into a hole under a very large gear never...

My bike is dangerous. :-[
There is no way it can be ridden like this.

I changed my clutch spring to the Barnett spring a week ago and it hasn't stopped raining long enough to test it.

I...

Has anyone built a golf bag carrier?

I like those..
I think I can build one of those for about 1/4 the price. I'd like to get a better look at the hitch.

Just finished the clutch spring replacement.

I held the stock spring and the barnett spring in my hands. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the barnett spring just had a better feel to it.

It may have all been in my head, but there seemed...

Clutch slip in all gears.

Not that I'm aware of.. As a matter of fact, in the first parade, we were doing a lot of throttle goosing and I had solid lock up the entire parade.
The second parade was a little more tame and it...
