lowering kit
Yeah, the lowering kit is a pair of shorter rear shocks. Not a cheap way to do it.

Yes, you can lower it. I lowered mine 2.00". I lowered the front and rear of my 2008

lowering kit
I purchased a kit from Scootworks. It contained 2 Progressive shocks and a tool to adjust the firmness. It lowered the 1.25". I have not done anything to the front. The cost was around $260.
