i KNOW, NOT OIL.

But I switch to this 2000 miles ago and it has worked perfectly. My Nomad never fell in love with a full syn, but Golden Spectro was the one I liked. I can get T5 at Napa for about $18.00 for a gallon and for a blend I am totally impressed. Just a FYI, not a gunslinger thread. :)

Dave, the T5 is a blend of syn and dino and Nomads love it. Heading up your way in the morning.

A lot of us have been using Rotella oil for sme time now.
I can't get T-5 any more I have T-6 in my nomad now.
I know that the T-6 is 5W-40.
It is full synthetic.

Never used the Rotella but not opposed to giving it a try. I currently use Mobil 1 10W-30 full synthetic. I have really liked it. Little expensive at Wal-Mart as it is over $8.00 a quart.

What is the difference you have noticed in how the bike runs? How does it run better than with pure dino or full synthetic?

Thanks Jeff, good catch. I think I cross referenced to the T6 again. One of the added benefits of the new T5 is it does have the JASO rating as well as the 10W40 the Kawasaki spec calls for.

Now that I go looking, this is diesel oil and quite a bit less money than the Petro Can diesel oil we now use.

I just use the KAWASAKI S4 full synth, which actually turns out to be cheeper then the Mobil 1 in my area, and a WIX filter.
My theroy is go with what is recommended if you can find it, the cost difference, if any, is only a few bucks. Same with gas, cost difference between mid grad and high test per tank is minimal, may $2 - $3 at the most. I'll stick with what is recommended.

We run the same diesel oil in all of our engines and Brian has over 100,000 Kms on his Nomad and I have over 83,0000 Kms on Ruby. We have a '92 Nissan with over 364,000 Kms, and have done nothing mechanical to it and it runs like new. We figure if the diesel oil is good enough for the Duramax, it is good for all our engines.
