Any ideas along this route?

My wife and I will be taking a trip down to Florida to visit my parents for a few days this summer. We will be going towards the end of June and wont need to be back until August.

I don't have a GPS unit and so I will need to plan my routes pretty thoroughly. Just messing around on googlemaps these are the routes that I've come up with. I will need to fine tune them, i.e. more coastal and scenic highways, and less interstate, but for the most part it looks pretty fun.

Anyone live along these routes? Any great, must see sites?

We have family in Ashford AL that we'll stay with and that is why we'll be going kind of off track near that area

We will be staying for 1 day in Littleton, CO with family and 2 days in Kansas City, MO with some friends.

The Durango, Silverton, Ouray area of Colorado is quite scenic either on your out bound or return trip. There are a number of other areas in Colorado that I am sure the guys will recommend, too.

When I was in Silverton, a Church of Christ brought a smile to my face and every time someone mentions that town I still smile. A sign in the window said, "Closed for the Season" Beautiful area, a must see.

Once you get to Crestview Florida, I recommend you go North on Hwy 85, almost to Florala, then take 54/52 to Sampson, then onto Geneva, to Dothan, then to your destination Ashford...was a nice ride thru farmland and such...

AND

When you get to Crestview, you gotta holler about breakfast/lunch/dinner (provided I'm not working like some lucky traveling dawgs)....
