I've been going there for many a year, but not anymore..
I carried the wife a few years back and she noticed something that I didn't see. That wasn't a bike week, it was a yuppie fest!
Posers as far as you can see... people riding bikes that has very little idea how to ride correctly... walking around drinking wine and Perrier water... some trying to walk in new leathers so stiff they couldn't sit down...people who didn't know the difference from a Yamaha to a Harley.
We saw too many driving the strip in full leathers ... in their SUV's!!
45,000 bikes, 42,000 trailers....So now I just call it "Trailer week" ;)
It's the same in Sturgis, was the same in Myrtle Beach.

Biking is not like it use to be... by no means!

I'm sarcastic and have a smart ass attitude. It's a natural defense against DRAMA, BULLSHIT & STUPIDITY!!

Laconia went that way about 15 years ago. If I want to see kids in strollers, I go to the mall.

The more enthusiasts the better...

I don't go to events...I ride, but I think it's silly to get attitudinal about folks that are more leisurely about it. Based on your perspective a 1%'er would not want to see anybody at a rally that wasn't a true outlaw...

I have a friend who rides alot.
And thats the important part.
He bought a new Yamaha.
I asked if it was a 2 cly or 4 cyl.
He said he didn't know.
But he rides alot and thats whats important.

thought it was about the ride to get there fun with friends and how much money you can spend on more stuff for your bike
