How Not To Ride The Dragon
Keep watching and you will see what happens. I don't think this is the way to ride the Dragon. I know the guy in the car or SUV was driving too slow as he was filming his trip on the Dragon. But then the Harley rider shouldn't have passed. Both of the bikers passed with a double yellow line. Don't know how it turned out but it had to have hurt.

How Not To Ride The Dragon
to me, it looks like a classic case of the fifty year old who finally got his big harley after thirty years of not riding. He is okay on the straightaways but doesn't really know how to ride. You can see him struggling to turn the handle bars as he goes over. In his panic he forgot you have to lean and countersteer. Of course he could be eighteen but I doubt it.

How Not To Ride The Dragon
I don't think the driver of the vehicle was going too slow. The speed limit is 35 mph. Also, it appears that the passenger was running the camera.
Both these riders had a serious lapse in judgement and obviously were way over their heads skill wise. See my response over in the Off Nomad board. Correction: I think the speed limit on the TN side may only be 30 mph with 35 mph on the NC side. Will have to check it out the next time I'm up there.

It was definitely the riders fault. First for passing and second for not controlling their bikes. They both just got too wide and then panicked.

Id say the biker made a dumb move, and got in over his head . Ive never been there but I think even with all my years of experience Id be pretty cautious will riding it.

See what happens when you eliminate the predators from the eco-system. ;)

How Not To Ride The Dragon
When we rode the Dragon last fall, one of the guys with us passed 3 bikes on the first decent straight because we were being cautious. When we got to that exact spot where those two bikes went off, he was teetering on the edge with his front wheel and trying to back up. He did something similar to the second rider, too hot and too far over coming out of the previous turn. He got lucky and didn't dump it.
