Clutch Replacement Quick Question
The clutch is finally starting to slip on my 2006 Nomad (~35,000 miles). I searched the forums and I think I understand what I need but just want to be sure:
1. I have the Barnett MT-25 diaphragm spring 2. I don't need Judge's or the Mean Streak washers as the 06's already have the newer washers? 3. Get the Barnett clutch or Gorilla clutch kit or are they the same? Where can I get the kits? I have seen this site http://www.mobbley.com/page/61866202 which I guess is OK. Have not bought there before. 4. I read about using Mean Streak springs. There are 10 of these I think from the microfiche? Comparing the Nomad and Mean Streak fiche, the spring part numbers are the same so is this for an older model Nomad? Thanks for any help. Pete Login or Register to Remove Ads |

2. With the Barnett spring, you shouldn't need Judge's washers unless you want to disable the "slipper clutch" capability. 3. I believe the Barnett and gorilla clutches are one and the same. Mobbley's is a great outfit to deal with. Make sure you need a clutch first, at 35,000 miles I can't see you needing anything other than a new spring. 4. Go with the Barnett spring and be done with it.

Clutch Replacement Quick Question
I'm with you Scott probably just needs the spring. That should solve the problem.

Clutch Replacement Quick Question
Thanks, Cactus and Alabama. I was thinking I'd just change the clutch plates too while I'm in there but a lot of what I've read agrees with what you've said. I'll go with just changing the spring for now.

Clutch Replacement Quick Question
I doubt you will need new plates and discs. I checked mine with calipers when I was replacing the spring at about 40k and they measured up the same as new plates.
