Finally!
I've been traveling in Montana and Canada since the 13th and finally saw a Nomad today! I pulled over to where the guy was and asked if he was a member of KawaNOW. He had no clue what I was talking about so I filled him in on a great website.

It always surprises me when people aren't aware of such a great site. If they do any Nomad research online they are bound to run into it..

I'm not sure the guy owns a computer. LOL. He made some comment about sharpening up his computer skills.

I've met 3 Nomad riders this year who hadn't heard of this site. I talked to them about you guys, maybe that wasn't a good idea.... ;)

Most of the Nomad owners Ive run into have never heard of us.
To them a bike may be just a vehicle to ride around on, and they are not interested in much more info about them.

I am amazed by the ignorance (for lack of a better word) by some motorcycle owners. It never occurs to them to google their motorcycle model in search of more information? I found KawaNOW a long time before I decided on a Nomad.

Netnorski saw me on my Nomad in Lynnwood and invited me onboard. I'm still very close to computer illiterate and I like the forum anyway. Most of my "on line" research has had to do with Plumbing parts and pipe locations. I did my research on the Nomad by going to lots of diferent dealers, taking test rides, and talking to people in person. My research for the PCIII, Cobra Pipes, and R-Link security system were from parts books at the dealer. You can still do things the "old" way, it just takes longer.

With the greatest information resource ever just a mouse click away, I can't understand why people don't use it more. You won't get an honest opinion on a motorcycle by talking to a salesman. You get them by visiting forums like this and reading what people are posting. Honest answers to honest questions. I didn't see anything on the Vulcan forums I visited to discourage me from buying the Nomad. The salesperson I bought mine from didn't know the answers to half the questions I asked him. I found the answers here.
I did the same thing before buying the Harley. Yes, you can find find HD horror stories, but with the volume of bikes they move, there's bound to be some. You'd see the same thing if Kawasaki sold as many Nomads as HD sells Road Kings. I think the percentage of Nomad owners in North America who are on this forum and others like it is very small. Most just haven't looked.

Most people don't care to know more info on things they have or use, Im sure I could read for hours about my refrigerator if I chose to, but as long as the light comes on when the door opens, and my beer is cold, thats all I care to know about it.
The same for most of my stuff, then some stuff I waste way too much time finding info about it.

In my area most of the people I run into with Nomads have not heard of Kawanow either but some of them may also not feel comfortable enough in English to really investigate it and participate.

You and I may think that way, but a lot of people have no mechanical skills and take it to a shop for any service. I just shake my head at what they pay for some very simple procedures.
