Exclamation Mark severe engine vibration

I own a 2001 Vulcan Nomad 1500 G and Fri NOV 1 2013, I started my bike and let it warm up as i always do in the garage. after about a 20 min warm up I headed out to catch up with friend I drove about 3 miles and I thought I heard and odd sound from the engine. I was low on fuel so i put some gas in my bike. after about 45 min of driving I noticed the engine had an awful vibration. performance has not changed idles fine starts on the first crank and does not miss but, the ENGINE IS SHAKING LIKE A Harley. My bike never shakes and I am not sure what went wrong can any one help me. It only has 63000 miles and i put a clutch in 3500 miles ago or about a year ago.

Sounds like you might be running on one cylinder. Check to see if both cylinders are firing. In my case about a year and a half ago,I had a TPS wire that when the bike got very hot, the solder would separate. that made the bike run rough and shake the bike.

I agree... with Rasta, ..Sounds like the most realistic thing to look at first !

ALSO..if it happened right after fueling up..you may have got some contaminated fuel, and it took that long for it to separate/collect, and cause the problem ! ?

Why do you let it warm up for 20 minutes?
That's a long time.

I would think if it was running on one cylinder he would have performance issues. He said his performance is fine.

Well if it is running right power wise, then maybe it is a bad engine mount. Also there is a gear driven counter balancer that smooths out the engine vibration, not sure if some thing can go wrong there. Also have you ever done cam chain tensioner extenders? With 63,000 miles, if they have never been done, one or more timing chains may be slack and perhaps one jumped a tooth.

I guess I missed the part of "Performance has not changed". I was relating to my situation were it started right up, idled fine but when you opened up the throttle it would run rough.
