weight loss

Hello All:

I washed the bikes and pulled out the batteries today. So no more riding for me till next year and I thought I'd throw in a different subject.

This past Thanksgiving was a wake up call for me. When I saw 186 lbs, I was terrified. Since then I've lost 12 lbs and aiming at another 12 lbs by x'mas. Maybe it's a little too ambitious but I'll try.

Cheers,

E.

If I saw 186 lbs on the scale I'd get to a doctor. I must be sick to lose 52 pounds.

I lose weight everyday after my morning coffee. Then I replenish it plus a little extra everyday! I'll be the last to die on a deserted island

I was told how I could lose 20 pounds of ugly fat fast but I'm not cutting my head off for anyone.

And then there was the guy who lost 150 lbs of ugly fat. His wife left him!

You guys are a bunch of clowns. . I got up to 235 a while back and scaled back to 200 but at 5' 8" that is still way to heavy.

Good for you Elvis! It's a struggle for me these days. I try to keep busy and moving and so far manage to maintain,... {to be over weight}... but I wish I could drop about 30 lb's. The Dr. says at 6" {apparently I've started to shrink. I use to be 6' 1 & 1/2"} I should be 190-195 lbs. If I could get to 200 I'd be happy. I'll have to lose some for sure when I get back to being mobile after the next operation.
Christmas/New Years is a hard time to lose with all the great food flying around, every where you go.

When I got to 185 lbs I said that is enough and went back to the South Beach Diet that worked so well for me the last time I got that heavy. That was June and I'm at 160 lbs, now which is my target weight. Both wife and daughter have commented on how much better I look at this weight. I sure do feel better at this weight. I'm not doing what I did the last time i got down to this weight. I've switched to a low carb "lifestyle" now and plan to maintain this weight from here on out. I stay away from sugars and complex carbs. The hardest part is skipping the bread and potatoes but I do really good for a week or so and then allow myself a treat of some sorts at one meal.

I had a physical last week and the doctor took me off of one of my blood pressure medicines because my BP was so low. That has really helped too because that particular one made me drowsy.

Having lost that many lbs, I really feel good. Here's a simple demo: Go to a grocery store, get a 10 lb-sack of potatoes or something and carry that about a block. Leave the sack there and walk back. That's how I feel now, so much lighter.

I will lose another 12 lbs, but it is difficult to do it at the same rate as it's been. Even more challenging is to maintain that target weight once I get there. Because I love to eat and drinkā€¦

Congrats on the weight loss Elvis. I weighed 190 in high school and now weigh 235. I would love to get down to 200. It's tougher to lose them than gain them.
