My turn

The past couple of days I've noticed a faint coolant odor coming from my bike. No signs of leakage and the level in the coolant recovery jug seems normal. I guess I'll be checking and tightening my hose clamps.

yep scott, I smelled mine since near new. I posted that once in a while I'd find a dried drop of radiator fluid in the bottom of the front jug and had no idea where it came from. When it was time to change the coolant, I pulled the tank and each hose had a light dusting of dried coolant on it and all were loose. After the flush I tighted all of them. ALL of them needed it, including the bottom radiator drain plug. It was loose too. That was before the Mesquite trip and it's been odor free and no drips...

I have smelled the same thing coming from mine since having my radiator flushed. I've already tightened all the clamps and see no leakage. But every once in a while, I'll get a whiff.

Same thing here, but it did take a couple of weeks before it was oder-free.

Yep, whiff or two here too since near new. Never any usage though. Changing the fluid didn't make any difference. Have not been able to get to all the clamps to check/tighten. Ones checked were okay but drain plug was loose before the change out.

trip you might still have some residual dried fluid that had ran down to a spot you cant see or get too. I took a very small high pressure hose with demineralized water so it woudn't spot and cleaned (with my tank off) the entire motor and cooling system. Smell has never came back. I'm guessing you still have baked on coolant...

Just a note, it doesn't take very much coolant on a hot surface (e.g. Exhaust) to make a strong smell. So, look for a small leak drip around a really hot surface if you don't find something larger.

Hmmm....I did eat at Chipotle that day. Hey, antifreeze smells like syrup, not frijoles!
