All I know is Scott Key wrote it aboard a Bristish Man of War while the rockets shelled Maryland in the War of 1812. I don't recall the Ft name off hand, but I know where it is.

The tune was a British pub beer drinking toon like Yankee Doddle was...

It is amazing that once the sun never set on the British Empire. We took the country, atleast 2 songs, and just look at them now. Will we be next?
