Kawasaki Gel Seat for Nomad

Hi all, just registered as a member. Bought a new Red/Black Nomad in May 2008. Put on 5,000 Kms last year.
I've been reading this forum for quite some time and love all the info here. I'm looking into the Kawasaki Gel seat available on their web site, just wondering if anyone here has tried it. I haven't seen any posts that even mentions it. I might order the passenger seat first and see what my wife thinks of it.

Welcome to the forum!!! I know you will like your bike, can't help you with the seat though.

Kawasaki Gel Seat for Nomad

Hi Eli, welcome from North Dakota! You have the best colored Nomad! I don't have the Kawasaki gel seat, although I do have a gel pad that I keep in my saddlebags. I alternate between the pad and the stock seat on long rides, just to differ the pressure points. I don't know how much the gel seat costs from Kawasaki, but you may be better off just buying a pad of any kind: gel, air, beads, etc, and trying one before you invest in a seat. I'm sure it would be a cheaper method to try, at least at first.

Thanks for welcoming me.
The price on the seat isn't to bad $165 US
Check out Kawasaki.com Part # K53001-199
The interesting part is that it also provides more back support for the rider

If your lookin' for more back support there is a guy on here named grasshopper that makes backrests. A lot of members here swear by them. They are very inexpensive also. I have one ordered but it hasen't arrived yet. Of course that's not a problem as we still have 5" of snow on the ground from day before yesterdays storm. :(
