Hoppy Converter Problem

Anyone had trouble with your Hoppy trailer wire converter? Mine has decided to quit working on the left blinker and the wire coming out for the left blinker is hot all the time. I haven't towed the trailer in a while but it worked fine the last time I did. I just made the new box to go on the receiver hitch. I was wiring the lights for it and now the converter is messed up. The lights on the bike still work fine. It's something inside the converter box.

Yes. This happened to the first one I installed. I ordered another to replace it with and have yet to return the original converter to Hoppy for warranty. They have a lifetime warranty from Hoppy, I believe.

I called Hopkins to see if they have a warranty and he said they don't for the model I have (46255) because they don't list them for a motorcycle. I thought that was a poor excuse but he said a better one for using on a motorcycle is a 46365. Oh well back to the store or either find a different brand converter.

You shouldn't have told them you installed in on a motorcycle. I don't plan to mention that to them when I warranty mine.

Hoppy Converter Problem

Got an email today from Hopkins that makes the Hoppy converter. He said it has a 90 day warranty and he will replace it free. Wish he had told me that when I called them and they said it's not warranted if used on a motorcycle. I already bough another one.
Grrrr!

I tried to find where I read it carried a lifetime warranty, but all I could find was a 90-day warranty. I guess I'll send mine in and when I get it back I'll either keep it for a spare or sell it on eBay.

Got my new converter from ebay. It is in a NAPA box but it is a Hoppy 4255 same as I had. I paid $10 for it new in the box.
