HELP! Venture trunk in pieces

JRD was gracious enough to sell me his surplus trunk which I believe is from a 1986-93 Yamaha Venture. He has taken it apart to paint it (blue/silver ;) so it is in about 50 billion pieces. Who would have thought a trunk would need that many pieces. I found a schematic on the internet but it is not really legible. If anyone has a similar trunk could I impose on some nice detail pictures? Especially on how the passenger backrest assembly goes together. Also, does anybody know a good source for pinstriping tape, especially the yellow/red two tone like on my bike?

HELP! Venture trunk in pieces

hey Steve
I have the same trunk but I'm not sure how to show pics that will help you without tearing mine apart. I had it in many peices when it was painted. But of course I took it apart so was lots easier putting back together. Let me know what pics I could take that might help you. If you wanna wait for winter, I'll take it apart then.

Mike

HELP! Venture trunk in pieces

I would never have guessed it wasn't more than a top, bottom and a few lights.

If you can't come up with good info make good pics and maybe I can help. I have never ever seen one first hand.

Once a guy with a Winchester Mod 100 , 30-06 semi auto, gave me his gun in 4 boxes with other gun parts in all 4 boxes. The blueing smith skipped town and the guy was lucky all his parts were in 4 boxes.

Part by part I sorted out what his gun was from other parts. A civil war style hammer was real easy to see it was no match, other parts were not so easy. In due time that gun went boom.

I have no idea if i can do this on line or not.

HELP! Venture trunk in pieces

I have the same trunk and disassembled it for painting....the passenger backrest fits on the front of the trunk and then has several bolts that screw into the backrest from inside the trunk. I think it is 4 -6 bolts.........let me know what other info or pictures you need and I will try to get them for you.
