It wont fit, unless you weld some mounting brackets onto the frame. And why would you want to do that when a one piece bolts on in a couple minutes.

On a 1600, the bottom of the crash bar mounts using the forward most bolt that holds the drivers floorboards on, and at the top, where yours has the forward facing ears, the 1600 has a boss turned 90 degrees facing out, and drilled and tapped for the top. It may be possible to fab up some "L" shaped brackets for the top, but the bottom should be a direct bolt up with no problem.

That is a 1600 frame, see the boss where the top would mount?

OK ,I'm into all kinds of mods of the 1500 for various reasons, mostly improvements. Looks? Cool! The 1500 crash bar is actually stronger, as it goes across the frame above the radiator.
I've seen several crashed Vulcans that laid down between 15-25mph, the 1500s come thru better where the 1600 bars just fold up, bend at their attachment points, swiveling back....
