drifter fenders
The only problem I see is that the front fender only has the one provision for caliper not two.

It has been done Lar. I saw it somewhere but can't remember where.
A better idea is buy a Drifter 800 and keep the Nomad. Get Elaine the 900 LT and then you would have 3 bikes. One for you ( Drifter) one for Elaine (900 LT) and one you both could take turns riding(800 Drifter). That's been done also I just can't remember where I saw it.

Some things I searched;
http://www.flickr.com/photos/uwe9999/3088902764/ A pic of a Nomad with Drifter fender; http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...der-nomad.html This second link goes to a forum where our own UtahMotorcyclist is a member. He is the original poster on this link. You may want to PM Jared and get more info and insight Lar.

There is a member on here named Joe Bear. He has adapted his 1600 to have a drifter style front fender.
I seriously considered it last winter when I painted my bike, but the main problem was that the 1600 have two calipers and the drifter fender is designed for only one.

You would have to cut the Drifter fender to clear the caliper and then make a cover to match the other side. You could probably make one from fibreglass.
