No problem. I've been all around there in a car a number of years back, it has some amazing scenery and lots of attractions. One thing that was neat to see was all the heavy gun emplacements and pill boxes that were built to protect the St Lawrence river from the Germans should they come after the shipping. I never knew they existed. My brother is planning a trip on his wing down there this summer, so I got that site from him.
My plans are made fro this year, but it is a place I always wanted to go back to on a bike, maybe next year.

Norm - We missed those gun placements entirely. Where are those? (We did however ride the Tail of the Codfish in Perce!!!) Also, this book has some good advice for motorcycling around Atlantic Canada: http://www.whitehorsegear.com/motorc...tlantic-canada

Murphy I wouldn't worry about your French, it's a tourist area so most everyone is very accommodating.

That looks like an awesome ride, figure 8 hours to reach La Pocatière. How many days would you suggest to do the loop around the Gaspésie peninsula? How early in the season can you ride comfortably up there?
Thanks

Well if you want to really sight see I would consider 3-4 days as a minimum. I would think because of the proximity to the Alantic and the cold air that came come off of the waters, Mid June or later would be a good time to go. Although having said that, on a Trip to Cape Breton Island in mid July we experienced hot weather on the way down along the St Lawrence and hit 50F temps on the way back over the same stretch.
