Are we all insane for still riding despite all the dangers we face on our bikes?

Of all the crazy scenarios that have crossed my mind, this cow sh*t is a first.

Without trying to be too graphic...if it's fresh, it's like grease on the road.

I found it interesting the article described the color, model and size of the bike. I rarely see that in articles. But honestly, I've never encountered manure. At least I won't be surprised if I do.

Plenty of it in the midwest!

A friend crashed his bike the other day because of antifreeze or oil on the paint of a crosswalk. He was veering off of one road onto another, and hit that crosswalk paint, went down, and broke his leg. Made me add another thing to my "watch" list.

I was thinking the same thing. Made me wonder if the writer was a motorcyclist.

On the way back from Custer in the rain I fell behind one of those damn cattle trucks and he was dumping manure every where I told the wife it was like an obstacle course.

Something else to watch out for!!!

The cattle road trains we have over here often have a drain down each side inside the load area. This drains the cattle waste to the rear of each trailer, where it is directed to the road surface by hoses and gravity. The liquid waste normally atomises before hitting the roadway.

Its so much fun riding behind one of these, getting sprayed with a nice fine green mist. Smells wonderful too. And theres no way to get away from it, as the rain lingers for a couple of hundred metres behind the rigs. Its not uncommon to see the roads out west paved with a green tinge.

Cheers
Bundy

Riding a lot in Amish country, something to watch out for every few hundred yards, but worth the ride!

Its nothing to mess with when you come across it on the road. On one of my other bikes I hit a oil patch on the road from some garbage trucks, and the bike went out from under me in an instant at 65mph. I was ok but the bike was a writeoff.
