Another Throttle Lock Option

If this has been posted before I apologize. A friend told me about a throttle lock that he had just put on his bike and I had never heard of it. He is raving about it and he said it works great. For $19.95 shipped I thought I would give it a try too.

Here is the page for the Metric Throttle Mate You have to call them to order.

My friend said it was a breeze to install and he was impressed with the quality for the price.

I can't tell how it works without going down and looking at my bike, but it looks a lot more like it belongs on a bike than the vista cruise that I've been using for 9 years.

I bought the same thing off E-Bay, AND you need to DRILL the hole in the bottom of the throttle housing out to a 1/4 hole, then rethread to hole to accept the bolt. I'm not talented enough at this point to start drilling holes in the bike. It now resides in a drawer in my garage. -Rich

This requires NO drilling. I spoke with them on the phone.

I have vista cruise , less all that hog wash. I used an exisiting screw and made a little bracket you can't see from plumbers tape (metal with holes pre punched)

I wonder how this one works? I did check the link, which still leaves me guessing.

Harley uses the same style throttle friction lock. All you do is add the lever. It works OK.

+1
Don't have to drill BUT do have to tap to 1/4-20. Tap not included. Still probably worth the price @ 19.95 shipped.

Anyway, I ordered

jrd......Thanks for posting the link!

Is this a screw with in a screw? The 1/4-20 holds thje device into the allow switch box, and a screw inside that screw rubs the white nylon cable holder?

Does the device had a roller ball in contact when locked?
