light bar wiring
I noticed the spot lights on my light bar are wired in with the running lights. Is this to much of a electrical load on that circuit.I bought the bike used and was told this was all a dealer set up. I'm not sure if the light bar was made by ma kaw or not.One of the spot lights quit working and after opening up the head light bowl was when I noticed the wiring. Just for info the spotlight only had a loose rivet in the spotlight bowl that the ground wire was hooked to. A little tap or two with a ball peen hammer tightened up the rivet and got her working. Placed the spotlight bowl on a hard surface before tapping the rivet. One day Im going to figure out how to get a pic to appear with my post.

Well, I prefer to have them on a separate circuit with a relay. I guess you could call that the "proper" way.
I think the electrical system on the Nomad will support what you have .... several on here have it wired direct...I am sure they will speak up.

light bar wiring
I recently added 2 halogen spotlights above the bar that holds the turn signals. The are 55 watts each very bright, I measured the amps about 9 amps together.
In the headlight bucket ther is an auxillary power wire, I don,t remember the color, but it is a wire with a connector on the end with a plastic boot over it. This wire is fused in the fuse pannel, I checked. Anyway, I use a small relay, (7 bucks at NAPA) with this wire as the power, and the trigger is the high beam wire, I fused the trigger wire with a 1 amp fuse just in case there is ever a problem with the relay. This way this fuse would blow instead of the one feeding your main headlight. I also added a switch to the trigger circuit so I can turn them off at any time. The relay fits nicely in the headlight bucket. Still waiting for the snow to melt.......... Terbear |

light bar wiring
I installed the Kawa light bar made for the 1600 Nomad. The instructions showed wiring them in with the running lights, so that's what I did. No problems yet.......
