clutch won't disengage
My Nomad clutch won't disengage. Engine starts great, I'm in neutral, clutch lever pulled in. When I shift into 1st it lurches forward and dies. I tried adjusting the handle but no luck. It does not feel as strong as last season. The clutch is not disengaging. Any thoughts? Thanks

How long has it sat?
Sometimes, more than not, the plates stick together. Put it in 1st and rock it back and forth, you'll feel it when it breaks free.

Thanks for the response MT. I tried but no luck. I'm taking the clutch apart and cleaning it up. Can't get the 27 mm bolt off with an impact wrench. Also tried putting a penny between the gears and use a breaker bar. It turns part of the clutch assembly but not the nut. Also the clutch lever feels like there is no resistance on it. I know it's a hydraulic cable but I thought there would be some resistance.
Any thoughts? Thanks, |

OK....looks like MAS Stepped away for a moment. Put the bike into 1st gear (shift lever down),Ziptie your rear brake pedal down (rear brake on). Hit that clutch nut with the impact....Done deal....
Bikes clutch is hydraulic....could be your Master cylinder causing this, which it usually is.... You should be able to feel the clutch.... If you have nothing, check your fluid level. If thats good, check its clearity. Make sure theres no gunk in bottom of MS. Fluid probably never has been changed, and its gunked up.... What year bike and model?
