I have been wondering if, when a member of KawaNOW is "asked to leave the site",.....is there anything stopping him/her from re registering as someone else, or is there some kind of a "cookie" that recognizes his or her computer so they are unable to register under another name/handle. ??? ::)

I believe their IP address can be blocked, but I'm not sure.

You can check the ip address, but if you create an account from a new location, theres really no way of knowing until someone figures it out eventually.

Also, most people use DHPC so their IP address changes everytime they turn the computor off.

That's a good question Rickyboy. An admin in Proboards can ban a member by IP address, email or login name..... or all three.

There are ways a banned person can get around that.... just login and re-register using a different name with a different email address on a different computer. But sooner or later, they will be found out.

Since the KawaNOW forum is an "open" forum, I suspect that there are many that have account here that have either been banned before or have left on bad terms. Like illegal aliens, they do their best to stay off the radar.

Also, in case you were wondering... when a person becomes a member of KawaNOW, they are issued a KawaNOW number that they keep for life. Even if they convert to another brand of motorcycle. If a member doesn't own a Nomad anymore, they are listed as an "Enthusiast".

If a member is banned from KawaNOW, they loose their member number which is reissued.
