Off to the tail of the dragon

Saturday morning I will be leaving for four day trip from Manassas VA to meet my sister and her husband and ride the Tail of the Dragon and associated roads in that region. They are riding their HDs up from the South. We will be camping at the Kickstand Lodge where I will leave my trailer for the day rides.

Last time I rode through their in March the Tail was closed and I wasn't able to ride it. The weather looks great and I expect a grand adventure.

I haven't quite decided how to get down there since Interstate 81 is fastest but the Blue Ridge is a lot more fun. Maybe a combination?

Weather is supposed to be great in the area this weekend. Should be a lot of bikes on the road. Cool spell in the upper 80's. :-)

The Dragon is open for business.
Smile for the cameras!
Watch out for Tenn. Hwy Patrol!

If you’re looking for other rides this is one of my favorites.

Look on the Dragon web site http://www.tailofthedragon.com/index.html
‘Other Area Roads’ http://www.tailofthedragon.com/other_rides.html
Third one down CHEROHALA SKYWAY - JOE BROWN HIGHWAY LOOP

I would also recommend riding Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah Valley.
Enjoy your trip where ever you ride.
