Raising the Nomad
I may ahve posted this question here before as I have been trying to get a clear answer from several forums. The previous owner lowered my '02 Nomad he said 4 inches. I find that hard to believe since the stock Nomad only has 5.25 inches of ground clearance. That being said, I have the stock shocks and fork springs from the PO. I know the shocks will be no problem. Just lift and replace. The '02 Nomad has the cartridge forks. Is it possible to change just the spacers out in the fork springs without major disassembly??? I'm thinking I can just replace the spacer with on maybe 3 or so inches longer than what is in there now. The springs he used to lower the bike are Progressive springs, so I would like to leave them in place. Any thought on what to do or definitely not to do would be greatly appreciated.
