Update on AZ wreck

Just saw this posted and thought I'd pass on the news. Phoenix PD pushed the blood kit through DPS and got the results on the driver. I suppose that having such a massive wreck helped push the dept. to get the ball rolling.

Thoughts to those we lost and prayers to their families.

Good thing the PD followed up with the blood tests. Hopefully they will lock him away for a VERY long time.

Update on AZ wreck

I feel sick every time I read about this story, what a terrible tragedy. I hope the driver gets his due!

Thanks for the update. This guy needs to be locked away for a very long time. I can't believe he did the same thing two weeks prior in his pickup.

Update on AZ wreck

The 52 year old Stephen Punch was from Lockport, LA. Just a short ride from my home. His obituary came out on the local newspaper this past Friday. I didn't know him but the story of his life was an inspiration. He was very well liked in the community and loved by his family and friends. He was described as a soft spoken gentle man who had a passion for motorcycling. This guy that killed those riders should receive the maximum sentence for his malice. He's torn down the lives of the families involved. I don't know about Arizona, but down here he would be sentenced to at least 50 years in prison. I've seen 4th & 5th offense DUI's sentenced to 30 - 40 years of hard labor at Angola State Penitentiary without injuring anyone. This guy appears to have a serious drug problem and is a menace to society. If he's not put away, he will maim or kill again.

About 3 years ago, an off duty DPS officer rear ended a guy on a KLR650 as they were on a freeway on ramp. The cop hit the bike so hard, it embedded the back end of the bike up to the seat in the front end of the Mustang. The rider was thrown off and run over by a semi. He lost a leg, but survived. The cop had no insurance and his BAC was .15. He retired from the force and I never heard if he was prosecuted.

This truck driver is charged with some very serious offenses. He won't see the light of day for a very long time, if ever. If they send him to the prisons around here, I am confident the brotherhood will see that he pays dearly for his crimes.

Update on AZ wreck

After seeing that he was under the influence of Meth, I don't know if throwing the book at him is enough. Hopefully he will get his dues thru the court system and full prosecution while in prison.
