Pretty cool.

Lots of people saw it last night, I didn't.

Meteor over Alberta (video)

Really cool. My wife and I saw one here in Illinois a few weeks ago of the type we have never seen before (it lasted a long time with a long tail) -- but certainly no where near as spectacular as the one in this video.

I love these things. They keep one grounded in reality... this "place" is much bigger than we have to capacity to understand.

Thanks for posting it.

Meteor over Alberta (video)

If that's the meteor that happened between 11:30pm and 12:00 CST Thursday night, a friend of mine saw it on his way in to work. He said the meteor had a long tail and as it neared the horizon it looked like it exploded. Probably nothing as spectacular as the video. That was here in N/E Arkansas.

I watched the video earlier today. I love that kind of stuff. Wish I could have seen it live.

Three days after Bosko posted this, the video was featured on the NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day web site. That site usually has the latest breaking news from the space science world and KN scoped them by three days. Not only educated, per recent poll here, but informed.

Here's a story from yesterday's paper.
They've found some fragments of the estimated 10 tonne meteor.

Here's a link to the story.
